And that is.... THE LAST COMIC!!!

Ever since wrapping the storyline of "Playing with Fire" things have been incredibly slow and slug'ish on this particular webcomic. There are many reasons for that, but mainly it stems from me wanting to do MORE with my life. Personally, Professionally, Passionately? I just want to do more with my life!

One of the BIG goals in life is to… Quit my job of the last decade. I’ve had the same “retail hell” job since I was 17… 10 years is quickly sneakin’ up on what was intended as a “summer job”. I would much rather find a job where I could earn a decent (or better) living do something I enjoy… like… art for example.

So the reason the comic is being put on hold is… So I can actively pursue that career goal. Basically, this is the scenario. I’ll be sitting at home, and really feel that urge to work on a portfolio of my art (comic related stuff and more traditional fine art). Which is great! Motivation is awesome! HOWEVER… I then realize “Hey, I gotta finish the webcomic that was supposed to be up a week (or two) ago.”

So rather than working on a new art piece that I can shop around and improve my station in life, I work on this webcomic. The motivation to work on something new for the portfolio fades, and I post the new comic. Repeat.

I really do love this webcomic, it is my child of the last 4? years. But, it is holding me back from my dreams (which children often do to parents). As this webcomic isn’t a real human child with my dna… it’s okay for me to not feed it for a couple months, while I chase after my dreams so as to avoid a mid-life crisis before I’m 40.

So, is this the end of “Waste of Time”? No.

This child of mine will return… If I had to GUESS… I’d say late July ’08 (on or just after Comic-Con ’08 in San Diego). It will return, and I have a FOUNTAIN of ideas on what to do when it returns. And even some changes (while stayin faithful to the 160 comics already in the series)!

However, to keep my small audience somewhat interested in returning during that multi-month drought… I will be posting artwork that I am working on for the portfolio, on this site. This artwork will consist MOSTLY of comic-book pencils for major studios such as Marvel, DC, and the like. Artwork will be posted as I get it done, scanned, and... posted (ideally, subbing for the weekly updates that this webcomic would be doing).

So yeah, it’s been great… I’ll be back after I do some soul-searching and art grinding!
